Description
CATAS stands out as one of the most important testing lab in Europe, thanks to the high testing capacity (more than 50,000 tests/year) and the strong specialization and experience in the wood and furniture sector. It operates in 2 sites in Italy: in San Giovanni al Natisone (UD – Friuli Venezia Giulia region) and in Lissone (MB – Lombardy region). Five technical departments (Mechanical Dept, Chemical-Biological Dept, Fire Reaction Dept, Surfaces Dept, Product finished Dept) carry out a wide range of tests and research both on raw materials and finished products. For each single material or product, CATAS can assess the conformity to the requirements of standards or to those defined by the customer itself, by carrying out different tests on safety, performance and durability. Since 1993 CATAS operates also as a product certification body through its own mark CATAS QUALITY AWARD - CQA. The mark CQA can refer today to raw materials (i.e. wood base panels with a limited emission of formaldehyde, adhesives, wood coating systems), semi-finished products (glulam window profiles, faced panels) up to furniture finished products (Italian origin of the furniture, Mechanical safety requirements, Low VOC emissions).
